Our fishing club is managed by a 17-member volunteer committee. This dynamic team aims to offer everyone the chance to enjoy their favorite pastime in the best possible conditions: active participation in the FHPA<\/a> (f\u00e9d\u00e9ration halieutique et piscicole du sous bassin de l’ Ambl\u00e8ve), joint courses and events with the P\u00eacheurs R\u00e9unis de Basse-Bodeux-Coo-Trois-Ponts, support from the towns of Stavelot and Malmedy and their tourist offices, investment in the “Ambl\u00e8ve” trout stocking program at the provincial hatchery, river improvement work… <\/p>\n\n

And all things considered, it works!<\/strong>Over 600 annual members put their trust in us every year, with an average of 380 “NO-KILL”, “150 all techniques” and 80 “junior” members on the river, plus some 150 members on the ponds.<\/p>\n\n

And to keep you entertained, here’s what’s in store for 2026:<\/p>\n\n

RIVIERE:<\/h2>\n\n

  • NEW 2026<\/strong>: Only the “all techniques” card can still be used to catch fish. 1-day and 2-day cards = no-kill! <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • NEW 2026: <\/strong>fishing with natural bait is no longer authorized on the Petite Ambl\u00e8ve (points 1 to 5 of the courses).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The opening of river trout fishing has been brought forward to the first Saturday in March: 15 days more fishing over the year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Release of “speckled” rainbow trout on the Warche and Ambl\u00e8ve rivers, in parallel with total protection of the fario trout and reinsertion of the “Ambl\u00e8ve” stock with truitelles from the provincial hatchery.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 6 spills of 24-35cm rainbow trout (910kg total) and 100,000 3-5cm troutelle “Ambl\u00e8ve” strain.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • All river courses are totally protected for fario trout (no-kill).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The no-kill card now authorizes the harvesting of exotic crayfish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The organization of a “lure” competition on the river: lure competition in teams of 2 on all our river courses (Ambl\u00e8ve and Warche) on Sunday April 19.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The Ambl\u00e8ve FLY challenge by team of three fly fishermen, in 3 rounds including the unprecedented: an evening shot. Rendezvous on Saturday July 11 at the Stavelot and Trois-Ponts river courses. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • New company caps<\/strong> (\u20ac20): on request from a committee member or Alain Leblanc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • NEW 2026<\/strong>: reopening of fishing after cleaning and improvements on Sunday May 31st. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • NEW 2026<\/strong>: fish reintroduction. In February, 1.5 tons of whitefish and carnivorous fish were spilled, as well as a few sturgeon. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • NEW 2026:<\/strong> Pond festivities on Saturday May 30, with a wide range of fishing activities, brass bands, children’s games…<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • NEW 2026:<\/strong> feeder vs. shot individual day on Saturday 08 August.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • NEW 2026<\/strong>: the return of the traditional carnivorous competition on Sunday November 08.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n
