The Ambl\u00e8ve rises on the Hautes-Fagnes plateau near Heppenbach and flows into the Ourthe at Comblain-Au-Pont. Its total length is 93 km. <\/p>\n

A rich Ardennes type on our courses, it is 8 to 20m wide<\/strong> and up to 2m deep in some goffes.<\/p>\n\n

Its main tributaries in the Stavelot-Malmedy area are the Recht, Warche and Eau Rouge rivers.<\/p>\n\n

We offer 26.660<\/strong> km of shoreline<\/strong> in a natural or semi-urban setting.<\/p>\n\n

On the outskirts of Stavelot town center, you’ll find goffes and long dishes made by the hand of man.<\/p>\n\n

Once out of the center, the Ambl\u00e8ve reveals all its charm in a natural setting, with numerous current variations, rocks, goffes, flats…<\/p>\n\n

Since 2022, a 9.080km continuous “double bank”<\/strong> run on the “little” Ambl\u00e8ve<\/strong> between Pont-Ligneuville and Rocher de Warche has been available. At this point, the Ambl\u00e8ve has not yet been joined by the Warche and is therefore much narrower, but the fishing spots are magnificent! <\/p>\n\n

From a piscicultural point of view, being located in the trout and grayling zone, these two species occupy most of the positions on the river, and it’s not uncommon to hit a fario or rainbow trout of over 50 cm<\/strong> in full flow. Sport fishing guaranteed! <\/p>\n\n

Please note: since 2023, all “Ambl\u00e8ve” runs have been NO KILL for FARIO trout; only rainbow trout can be caught.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Grayling<\/strong> can grow to a respectable size of 40 cm; but beware, this fish is protected<\/strong> and can only be fished with a no-kill fly.<\/p>\n\n

Alongside these three species, minnows, loaches and sculpins abound, much to the delight of the trout…<\/p>\n\n

More sporadically, the goffes are also home to a few chub, barbel and even one or two pike.<\/p>\n\n

A<\/strong> salmon and sea trout reintegration program is underway on the river, and 10-20 cm parr are not uncommon.<\/p>\n\n

In short, the Ambl\u00e8ve offers you a free choice of fishing technique: fly, lure… and will undoubtedly hold some wonderful surprises in store for you!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The emphasis is, of course, on sport fishing…<\/strong><\/p>\n\n
